Fees, services, locations, and confidentiality.Questions
about hiring?
What is the difference between contingency recruiting, retained search, and temporary staffing?
Contingency and retained search describe how a recruiting firm is paid. With contingency recruiting, a fee is earned when you hire a candidate the firm introduces. Retained search involves paying for the search itself, usually beginning before a hire is made.
Temporary staffing supplies workers for time-limited assignments, often through the staffing firm’s payroll. NexQuest provides contingency recruiting for permanent employees who join your payroll.
Do you offer temporary staffing or retained search?
NexQuest focuses on permanent, direct hires through contingency recruiting. We do not provide temporary labor, temp-to-hire, contract staffing, or retained search.
How are contingency recruiting fees generally calculated?
Fees are commonly calculated as a percentage of the hire’s first-year compensation. Some firms use a fixed fee or a combination of a fixed amount and a percentage. The calculation and payment schedule vary by firm.
At NexQuest, the fee is divided into three equal installments tied to employment milestones.
When do we pay a recruiting fee?
A recruiting fee applies when you hire a candidate NexQuest introduces. There is no upfront search fee. The first of three equal installments is due when your hire starts, with the remaining installments scheduled at later employment milestones.
What if the hire leaves before a payment milestone?
If a hire ends early, later installments may be waived. Spreading the fee across employment milestones limits your exposure to the full fee at the start and gives NexQuest a financial stake in the hire staying.
Which industries do you recruit for?
Our core specializations are civil and infrastructure, building and construction, manufacturing, and energy and utilities. This includes engineering and architecture firms, contractors, manufacturers, and plant and utility employers.
We also recruit for roles and industries beyond these areas. If yours is not listed, tell us what you need.
Can you recruit outside our local market?
Yes. We recruit nationwide. Tell us where the person will work, how much travel is required, and whether relocation is an option.
Can a search be confidential?
Yes. Discuss it with us before we contact candidates. We agree on what can be shared, when your company can be named, and who needs to be involved.
What does candidate screening include?
We discuss experience, work history, technical skills, project responsibilities, credentials, reasons for moving, availability, and pay expectations. Relevant professional licenses are checked against issuing-board records where the role requires them.
You receive a NexQuest-prepared profile with the candidate’s relevant experience and practical details to support your interview decisions.
Will you recruit away someone we hired through NexQuest?
No. We do not solicit someone you hired through NexQuest for another position while they remain employed by you. Our work is built on lasting hires and long-term client relationships. Recruiting that person away would undermine both.
